USDA Forest Service Introduces Xylorix Enforcer in Joint Law Enforcement Training in Liberia

2026-05-05

The USDA Forest Service conducted joint law enforcement training in Buchanan City, Liberia, bringing together the Forestry Development Authority and the Liberia Revenue Authority to enhance the detection and disruption of illegal logging and timber trafficking across borders.

As part of this initiative, the USFS Liberia team introduced Xylorix Enforcer, our AI-based rapid wood identification application designed to support timber verification, investigations, and enforcement at critical checkpoints such as borders, ports of entry, and log yards.

The program represents a broader regional effort spanning Liberia, Ghana, and Senegal, backed by the U.S. State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and the U.S. Embassy. By combining frontline enforcement, interagency collaboration, and AI-powered timber identification, the initiative aims to strengthen legal timber trade and protect natural resources against trafficking threats.
